Lantern Festival

Last weekend we attended the annual Lantern Festival in Seoul.  It is held in celebration of  Buddha’s birthday. The lanterns are made of paper. The photos speak for themselves.

Wow! Do they also do the floating sky lanterns? They’ve been outlawed in Chile becuase they can be a fire hazard, but people still use them for new-years celebrations away from the big cities.

    1. Not at his particular festival. We had a discussion (in passing) about those with the folks at the parade and there was also mention of the fire hazard but neither of us can remember whether they said they’re still in use…
